Hisense SA is proud to announce that the CanvasTV™ – its revolutionary new TV line that fuses high-end design with premium performance – is now available and locally manufactured right here in South Africa.

Made by South Africans, for South Africans, the CanvasTV range is produced at Hisense SA’s state-of-the-art facility in Atlantis, in the Western Cape, supporting local jobs and ensuring world-class quality rooted in South African innovation. Launching in 55-inch and 65-inch models (55S7N and 65S7N), these TVs are purpose-built for homes that want both style and substance.
Recommended retail pricing starts at R19,999 for the 55” and R24,999 for the 65” model – offering incredible value for locally produced technology. With 4K QLED and Quantum Dot Colour, Dolby Vision®, and an anti-glare Hi-Matte display, it offers crystal-clear viewing in every kind of South African home – from Joburg penthouses to coastal holiday homes. It is designed to blend effortlessly into any living space while delivering an immersive cinematic experience, and is available from all major retailers in SA.
The standout feature, Art Mode, transforms the CanvasTV into a stunning framed artwork when not in use. Whether displaying curated masterpieces, textured digital paintings, or your own family photos and photography, the screen mimics the look and feel of real canvas art – even down to the texture. The included teak magnetic frame enhances the illusion, while optional frame colours allow you to match the Canvas TV to your own personal style. With an UltraSlim wall mount, it hangs flush against the wall like a true gallery piece.
Running on Google TV™, CanvasTV puts over 700,000+ shows and movies and 800+ free live channels at your fingertips. It also integrates effortlessly into smart homes, supporting Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Apple HomeKit. Fast Wi-Fi, HDMI eARC, and intuitive controls ensure a smooth, modern experience.
“CanvasTV is not only a beautiful, intelligent TV – it’s a proud symbol of what we can produce right here in South Africa,” says Luna Nortjie, Deputy General Manager at Hisense SA. “We’re building world-class technology locally, empowering South Africans to experience design and entertainment that reflects their lifestyle and values.”
