The Sky Blues, Momentum Multiply Titans kicked off their 2024/25 T20 Challenge campaign in electrifying fashion, dismantling their Jukskei rivals, DP World Lions, with a massive 117-run victory.
The Centurion-based team was on fire, amassing a daunting total of 258/6. Matriculant
Lhuan-dré Pretorius stole the show with a blistering 82, while Keegan Petersen (68) and
Donovan Ferreira (53) also shone. Titans' bowlers, led by Roelof van der Merwe (3/28) and Dayyaan Galiem (3/22), obliterated the Lions’ batting order, restricting them to 141/8.
The Titans’ second match saw them overcome the Hollywoodbets Dolphins, setting another
mammoth total of 210/3. Rivaldo Moonsamy (81*) and Donovan Ferreira (59*) delivered
under pressure, while the bowling unit, spearheaded again by van der Merwe (4/31),
secured a convincing 51-run win.
However, their winning streak faltered when the World Sports Betting Western Province
claimed a seven-wicket victory. Titans 143/8 wasn’t enough, as Edward Moore’s hard-hitting 88* saw the Cape Town side cruise past their target.
Bouncing back, Heinrich Klaasen’s masterful 71* off 32 balls helped the Titans post 169/4
against Goldrush Boland in a rain-reduced match. Titans' bowlers then wrapped up Boland for a paltry 75, sealing a 94-run triumph.
