VINTAGE WITH LOVE - FASHION WITH A CONSCIENCE

One of South Africa’s leading fashion and literacy charities, Vintage with Love, is opening their first Johannesburg shop in June 2024.

This follows the opening of the charity’s Cape Town shop in trendy Zonnebloem in 2023 – a retail experience fast becoming a destination shop for lovers of gently worn fashion.  Vintage with Love Johannesburg will be situated at 102 Corlett Drive in Birnam – just around the corner from Melrose Arch – in the attractive Crete House development. Secure parking at the back of the building means the shop is safe and accessible for vintage fashion shoppers.

The Vintage with Love shop is sure to be a welcome new arrival on the fashion scene, with the team dedicated to ensuring a super-stylish selection of clothing in a beautifully appointed shop.

“Curating gently worn fashion is a real art – but one that our team of fashion volunteers have perfected,” says Tracey van Gass, managing director of Vintage with Love.

“These ladies spend every Tuesday morning in our offices, sorting and pricing all the clothing donations to be sure we have the very best selection of gently worn fashion online and in store.”  “We take great pride in the fact that Vintage with Love is not a jumble sale or thrift store – it is a carefully curated collection of really cool fashion that we know is going to be flying out of the doors the minute we open.”

Tracey says Vintage with Love is proud to tick two very important boxes in most people’s dreams to make the world a better place: All the profits from clothing sales go to improving literacy in our country, plus by buying once-loved clothing we can all help to reduce the amount of fashion waste that threatens the environment.

The Vintage with Love charity was launched in 2013 to raise funds for literacy charities through the sale of gently worn fashion.

Through pop up sales, a thriving online store, special events and the Cape Town shop, Vintage with Love has already raised more than R8-million for literacy charities around South Africa. Charities supported include the Realema Teacher Intern Programme, Community Assisting Schools, Thandulwazi Maths and Science Academy and the Click Foundation.

The charity has been built on generous clothing donations from friends in South African and around the world. While Vintage with Love remains grateful for all donations, we now also buy your gently worn fashion to sell for charity.
